چکیده

The objective of this work was to evaluate the replacement of Gum Arabic for sodium chloride to reduce fat and organic contents in dairy wastewater using two low cost commercially available lipase preparations from animal source (Kin Master LKM and NuclearLNU). The best performance was achieved when lipase Nuclear (LNU) was used as catalyst. In addition, this lipase preparation has also lower cost, which makes its use a quite promising technique for reduction of suspended solids as proteins and lipids contents found in wastewater generated by dairy

Influence of astaxanthin, emulsifier and organic phase concentration on physicochemical properties of astaxanthin nanodispersions

BACKGROUND The emulsification-evaporation method was used to prepare astaxanthin nanodispersions using a three-component emulsifier system composed of Tween 20, sodium caseinate and gum Arabic. Using Response-surface methodology (RSM), we studied the main and interaction effects of the major emulsion components, namely, astaxanthin concentration (0.02-0.38 wt %, x1), emulsifier concentration (0...

Comparative Studies on Effect of Pretreatment of Rice Husk for Enzymatic Digestibility and Bioethanol Production

Three common pretreatment processes based on dilute sulfuric acid, dilute sodium hydroxide and heat treatment (autoclaving) followed by enzymatic hydrolysis were evaluated to provide comparative performance data. Among them, the best result was obtained when the pretreatment of rice husk was carried out with 3% of NaOH solution. The pretreatment of rice husk with NaOH substantially increased th...

Competitive particle growth at different conditions of oligo-micelle formation in hydro-alcoholic solution of anionic double-chain emulsifier via batch emulsion polymerization of vinyl chloride

The condition of oligo-micelle formation of sodium di-isodecyl sulfosuccinate (SDIDS) emulsifier in hydroalcoholic solutions is used to study particle formation of vinyl chloride emulsion polymerization in a batch reactor. The change on micellization behavior was investigated by critical micelle concentration (CMC) and zeta potential parameters. To detect the occurrence of secondary nucleation ...

Clarification of rubber mill wastewater by a plant based biopolymer- Comparison with common inorganic coagulants

BACKGROUND: In this paper, the efficiency of Guar gum as a biopolymer has been compared with two other widely used inorganic coagulants, ferric chloride (FeCl3) and aluminum chloride (AlCl3), for the treatment of effluent collected from rubber washing tanks of a rubber concentrate industry. Settling velocity distribution curves were plotted to demonstrate the flocculating effect of FeCl3, AlCl3...

Standardization of different levels of lactose hydrolysis in the preparation of lactose hydrolyzed yoghurt

Yoghurt is a unique fermented dairy product, consumed throughout the world and the trend ofconsumption is increasing due to its unique health benefits. Yoghurt mix is often supplemented with MSNF(milk solids-non-fat), it may contain as much as 5.7% unhydrolysed lactose. Lactose can be hydrolysed withan enzyme lactase. Deficiency of lactase in lactose-intolerant persons leads to gastrointestinal...
